Followed the logging road for a bit then started heading straight towards our goal. This lead us uphill to a high bump. From here we descended slightly, then followed a ridge with little elevation gain until we happened on the bootleg trail mentioned in previous posts. It has very faint blazes and a few cairns but is pretty overgrown in spots so we lost it a time or two. We eventually ascended to a ledge with an amazing view of Stinson Lake and the surrounding peaks. Continuing up the trail to the summit, we located the highpoint. It is no longer recognized (no tape or jar). Unfortunately we had no jar with us today so hopefully the next hiker can hang one up... Followed the bootleg trail down as far as we could, then bushwhacked straight down to the logging road and our car. |
