We dropped a car at the Loop Trailhead next to Long Mountain Brook! We continued up Nash Stream Road 1.8 miles to the Cohos Trail crossing at Pond Brook Falls Trail. We followed the trail and went straight up the brook and then at the top of the falls the path petered out and we had a short whack to the trail. We followed the trail back down to the base of the falls and then went back up. There is a one beam wide bridge crossing the brook before reaching the Trio Ponds Road. Trail has a nice foot bed and we enjoyed the views over the cut areas to Sugarloaf and beyond. Pretty funny that the tent platform is in the middle of the trail. Water source at the campsite was flowing well. Totally lucked out that North Percy was nice and dry and we enjoyed views wide and far. This was a nice outing about 9 miles. |
