Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Parking area is nice, improved, and reasonably spacious. But get there early in tourist season!
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Mud - Significant
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Crossing the Rocky Branch trail in the dark is challenging, doable, yet probably is something to be avoided. Everything up to that point was fairly pedestrian.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Glen Boulder Trail and the Davis Path were in fine shape. Isolation and Rocky Branch trails were what you'd expect for wilderness area trails -- austere in some parts, quite nicely tamped down in others.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Some very happy pups on the trail, living their best lives.
Bugs
Bugs: Away from Rocky Branch, not at all a problem -- over treeline, non-existent.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: A pair of mens-sized dark blue flip-flops found somewhere in the area of Isolation Trail/Rocky Branch Trail. Left at the Glen Ellis trailhead information board.

Comments
Comments: Somehow, I can take an easy dozen miles and turn them into a day-long epic. My new best friend is the Glen Boulder Trail, and its views that just bring you to your knees. Wow! Getting over to Isolation was pretty straightforward, though someone uneasy with exposure on a somewhat steep, rocky trail could be put-off by the bit approaching the boulder.

Pictures are on my blog, with a more in-depth write-up.
