Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Only 1 running water brook on GB and rock hopping. Numerous river crossings on lower Isolation trail but doable. Pay attention to the rock cairns at waters edge.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: GB trail below and above Slide Peak could use a lot trimming in the wooded areas. From the Isolation Trail (west) and Davis Path intersection to Mt Isolation all log bridging of wet areas need to be redone. They are all rotted, broken and or gone. Looks like a skidder was working there. totally muddy from hikers. It will take some time and TLC. The upper 1.5 miles of the Isolation Trail East to the Rocky Branch Trail is somewhat messy. Could use some clean up and blowdown cleaning. Trail hard to follow at times. The first mile going down the Rocky Branch Trail east could have the tree branches trimmed back. Bottom lines is all wet areas need bridging redone on all the these trails.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: numerous dogs but no issues
Bugs
Bugs: bugs in wet areas and after a rain

Comments
Comments: Went up the GB Trail on Friday. Nice day and rocks/leaves slippery from rain. Above treeline rock all dried out until next forest section at 4100'elev. Again all forested areas damp, wet/slippery. Wind about 35-45MPH above Slide Peak. Going down Davis Path leaning hard to the wind to stay upright. Finally got to Mt Isolation and the view was spectacular. Well worth the trouble, clean and clear view of Mt Washingtion. Found a nice spot to camp and settled in for a rest. Rained hard overnight but it put me to sleep. Mid to low 40's and very foggy in AM. Chose to go down Isolation Trail east to the Rocky Branch trail. The upper half of Isolation Trail is a "chore". Rain stated again at 1100hrs and remained on and off till 1500hrs. Rain gear worked fine. Finally made it to Isolation. Stopped twice before by snow so it was really good to get done...………..
