Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Wish there was a kiosk with a map at any of the trailheads. First we did go over the Fowlers Mill Road Conservancy lands and water access to check it out but that kiosk had little hiking information. All we had to go for was the information in the White Mountain Guide Section 8 geography information. There are very nice trailhead signs that give names of trail only no distances.

Comments
Comments: This was our third and why not hike more adventure of the day. I showed Becca where the abandoned Skull Cairn Trail begins off of the Old Mail Road and we just kept on going. This was another one of those adventures that just seemed to keep getting better the more we went along the way. We had no map but tired to follow the way described in the guide book but we took a wrong turn and had to do some back tracking and going up and over Bickford Heights twice, I know ha ha. "Impressive glacial boulders" is an understatment, these a bigly and so many of them and the poor farmers that lived here sure did stack a lot of rocks on top of rocks. And crazy us went swimming in Heron Pond, it looked super nice and I think others swim here by the clear water and gravel bottom near a cut tree--polywogs and surprise a giant leach aka blood sucker welcomed us, it was awesome. These trails are worth a visit! Just before we got back to the car two mountain bikers rode by and I recall one trail being called an XC ski trail somewhere....
