Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: There are a couple crossings, but no difficulties crossing them.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Most of the Mt. Shaw trail was in okay shape, but there were some blowdowns (none difficult) and debris. Had a little difficulty near the bottom of the trail since there were limited blazes (which were red), and a bunch of confusing herd paths. We had the intention to go down the Black Snout trail and do a loop, but it looked overgrown to the point where we decided it wasn't worth it.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes:
Bugs
Bugs: Black flies were swarming on the lower parts of the Mt. Shaw trail

Comments
Comments: Overall, nice day hiking! Only saw two total people on the trails, one at the summit, and one just before returning to the trailhead. About 7-8 miles or so, with a total outing time of five hours. Great views of the whites from the summit of Shaw!
