Comments
Comments: A spectacular sunny day in the Belknaps with mild temps and a stiff breeze. Perfect hiking weather.

We ascended WMT to the ridge and did the out and back to Whiteface so two of our group could finish their Belknap 10. No issues here aside from the ponds along the ridge from ORV use (which the dogs loved).

Then we headed up to Piper, where we encountered a lot of wet ledge and one area of running water along PWL. Once on the ridge, we headed to the north peak for lunch, then doubled back to the south ledges for the 180 degree views. The ridge was mostly dry with just a few wet ledge areas.

Foliage is mostly gone, but there are still some pockets of yellow color around, and the west slopes of Piper were draped in a dull orange.
