Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Half a dozen or so blowdowns on prior to Mt. Osceola. One of them, a few tenths from the trailhead, is resulting in trail creep. May have been one between the peaks. One on East between the summit and the viewpoint. Lots of unmitigated erosion.

Comments
Comments: Lower trail was very wet with running and pooled water, as well as wet rocks. Higher up, the short gravelly stretches were fairly dry. The nasty sideslope slabs were covered in ice. I barebooted with care and don't know if Microspikes would have helped, but screwboots may have. Some additional ice covered slabs thereafter. Mudpits just prior to the summit were somewhat frozen, making for easier passage.

Some black ice between the peaks, but nothing that couldn't be avoided with care. Chimney had some black ice in it, but the bypass was dry.

The ice was melting as the day progressed and the sun hit, but there's enough water flowing that it will freeze back up at night.
