From Welch-Dickey parking lot, along "mt. bike trail", then from forest rd. near bridge across Shattuck Brook, up unofficial path.
The six (!) sequential beaver dams along the trail heading to Dickey Notch are wonderful. The unofficial trail up Fisher was pretty clearly marked from the end of the forest rd. with occasional blazes, blue tape, and--on the extensive ledges--blue paint. Some early season ice forming on the ledges--they will be quite tricky as winter comes on. Great views!The ledges are not for the faint-hearted or those who can't handle exposure. |
