Comments
Comments: Very nice day, started out clear and fairly cold. A bit breezy up top, so we had a quick lunch and didn't hang around. Trail conditions were variable - a little bit of everything: dry rock, wet rock, icy rock, dry leaves, wet leaves, mud. With all the rain I was expecting more mud, but everything was easy to negotiate. The worst parts were some black ice on the way up Carriage Road (just a few patches in the shade) and then some icy spots on the way down on Gorge Brook. However, the icy spots were relatively avoidable - never felt the need to put spikes on. Beautiful rime on the trees and cairns up top.
