Trails: Mooers Loop Trail
Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Friday, November 8, 2019
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: I parked at the lot for Strafford Town Forest along NH 126 in Strafford. Plentiful parking here. At the other end of the trail, 0.9 mi. west along the same road, there's a pull off with room for a few cars.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: One small brook, easily hopped.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: The footpath section of this trail between where it leaves the logging road and the junction with Link Trail takes care to follow in spots due to light use. Blazing is also red and orange in this stretch. Two minor stepover blowdowns which look like they've been there a while.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Sure.
Bugs
Bugs: Nope.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Nothing.

Comments
Comments: I walked this trail end to end in the ascending direction and then back. On the return trip I took a shortcut through a log landing which the trail bypasses. Mostly dry, but some wet areas and mud under the heavy leaf cover, which is also concealing ankle-twisting rocks and roots. On and off snow squalls in southern NH today but no accumulation.
