| Water Crossing Notes: |
We took the Black Pond “bushwhack†and only had the last 3 crossings to contend with. The first one was pretty easy. The second was trickiest and we scouted out the best place to cross (ended up right at trail crossing) but put spikes on because the rocks were ice/snow covered and had to step on slightly submerged rocks. The third wasn’t too bad (spikes on) |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
The ground after the last crossing is half frozen mud puddles that you occasionally fall through, gaiters were useful today. |

| Comments: |
Great day for Owl’s Head. Water levels were fairly low and the walking was fast and easy. Slide was mostly ice free but we opted to take the Brutus bushwhack on the way down. Saw 3 other happy people on Owl’s Head path. |
