Comments
Comments: Sunny mostly clear day with little wind and high temps around/below the freezing mark. And it was nice to get fresh snow under the boots again!

From Ferncroft, the clockwise loop to Mts Whiteface and Passaconaway. Fresh snow as of this week revealing itself as I ascended, with ~2-3" at elevation. I put on micros just before the first set of ledges, which may or may not have helped with getting up the ledges as they were mostly bare with some ice. Kept spikes on the rest of the way until the last water crossing ("the log") on Dicey's on the descent. Sections of the Rollins Tr had ice, and a good part of the ascent up Dicey's to Passaconaway summit had significant ice flows requiring traction. Lots of sections of black ice as well which is now covered with thin layer of snow. The spur trail to the northern Viewpoint has a few blowdowns which have been there for a while, but manageable and otherwise in decent shape and the view incredible as always. Walden Tr loop had plenty of ice as well and similar condition as Rollins Tr.
