After hiking all Three Sisters, we decided to try a bushwhack that was recommended to us by Jazzbo. After descending a couple of the switchbacks, we hiked onto the shoulder / ridge line, and followed a NW bearing. The woods were quite open, with birch trees and hobble bush. Regretfully, we were making slow progress through the slushy snow (postholing even in our snowshoes, hitting tree traps, etc.)... so after a course of time, we turned east and descended back to the trail. Will likely attempt this whack again in better conditions. |
