| Water Crossing Notes: |
The 2 most significant crossings (a Charles Brook branch at the Eastern end of Bicknell Ridge tr. and then Charles Brook on the Baldface Circle tr.) are partially ice-bridged. A combination of rock-stepping and walking (very cautiously!) on the ice is possible. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
2 blowdowns on Mt. Meader tr. - but easily passable. Trails are well-blazed. Trail corridors in great shape.
The sign and the Western jct. of Bicknell tr. and Baldface Circle tr. is down. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Good conditions for winter-capable canines. Our dog - Brandy - did her first serious winter-hike and did great all the way. |

| Comments: |
Parked at the Baldface Circle TH parking area and walked the road to the start of Mt. Meader tr.
All trails covered by snow - 1"-4". Some drifting around the Eagle Crag summit cone - up to almost 2'.
No significant ice anywhere (other than brook crossings). Some ledge sections had icy surfaces covered by powder snow. We barebooted comfortably to Meader Ridge jct. and then used spikes across the ridge and down the Bicknell Ridge tr.
Plenty of moose-prints but otherwise no signs of travel anywhere other than on the Baldface Circle tr. (Eastern section and up towards the Slippery Brook tr. jct). |
