| Comments: |
Parked at the Mead Center. Then walked up Sandwich Notch Road which was very icy, to Guinea Pond Trail which was very wet, but mostly frozen over.
Headed up the Mead Trail which is very lightly blazed but relatively easy to follow because the tread is so erroded. Wore micros over crunchy snow. Still too little for snowshoes, but some additional flotation would have helped. Summited Mt Israel and then took the Wentworth Trail back to Mead Base. Brisk on the north side, but warmer on the south. |
