Beautiful trail. Well packed down. Used light traction the whole way. Wish there were painted blazes on the way up - this would be a great mountain to break trail if I felt more confident about the actual route. Stunning views from Martha and Owlshead. Lots of animal prints and scat on the mile. 4000 footer type feel to it. Today Twin Mountain will have 7 or so inches of snow so the trail conditons will be quite different but I highly recommend this hike. Only saw one other person, they were headed down to their car, had the woods all to ourselves. |
