Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Greeley Ponds trailhead parking lot was not plowed as of 4:30 pm Monday. About 4 inches of heavy, wet snow in the lot and Dick, the first one in, got stuck at the entrance. Thanks to another group who helped us get his car out. He then parked about a mile down the road in a plowed turnoff and we shuttled him back to the trailhead. With my Outback I could park in the unplowed lot after Dick shoveled the snowplow berm.

Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Eva and Argos did well, no issues on the Chimney by-pass for these two and they loved the fresh snow. First long hike for Argos the German Shepherd and he did amazing. Eva loved rolling in the deep snow. Mild temps (20's and 30's) good for the pups.

Comments
Comments: 10+ inches powdery snow up high on Osceola with deeper drifts on the ridge and peak, more than we expected, given that there was virtually none in Lincoln on the way there. 4 inches at the trailhead (unplowed parking lot a little challenging with heavy, wet snow). 2 of us used snowshoes on the way up, Michele used them all day but I switched to Hillsounds for Chimney bypass and all the way down. Dick used crampons from Chimney bypass to Osceola and all the way down. Snowshoes challenging at times on the rocky steeps to East Peak, not quite enough snow to bury the rocks yet. But there is significant snow up high! creating a beautiful winter wonderland.
