I wore snowshoes the entire trip. Packed snow up to junction of Crawford Path and Webster cliff made snowshoes practical. Headed to Eisenhower, snowshoes are essential given significant snow. The only hiker who had been out towards Eisenhower turned around just above the col; his tracks to that point were a big help. I connected with Steve and we headed for the summit, encountering deep drifts and a bit of tricky route finding. Wind and associated wind chill made the final push pretty tough. |
