 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Space for ~6 vehicles at the trailhead and another ~6 at the bottom of the road. Road is unplowed and unplowed icy. Made it up just fine with snow tires and four-wheel drive, but it's not a long walk. No need to be a hero. |

 | Comments: |
From the parking lot to the junction with Willey Range trail is a highway, as one might expect, and starting to get a touch icy in spots. The rest of the way to the pond is far less traveled, so cheers to the two hikers I met on my way in/their way out who reported having broken this one out yesterday! Footbed is not entirely consolidated on that section, but off to a nice start. Didn't look like anyone has been past the campsite heading towards Thoreau Falls and Zealand trail since the last snow fell. I carried snowshoes and Hillsounds and was not mad about giving them a free ride, but didn't use either. All of this changes with tomorrow's storm, of course, but here it is for today! |
