Peaks
Peaks North Tripyramid, Middle Tripyramid, NH
Trails
Trails: Sabbaday Brook Trail, Mt. Tripyramid Trail
Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Saturday, November 30, 2019
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: There was nothing plowed at either Livermore Trail North or Pine Bend Trail so we opted for the plowed parking lot at Sabbaday Falls. There were some cars parked at Pine Bend but their tires were nearly on the white line because of the snow bank.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Ice - Black, Snow - Trace/Minimal Depth, Ice - Blue, Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular, Snow - Unpacked Powder
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Light Traction
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: We were able to cross each one without getting our feet wet. The tops of the rocks were iced over and slippery. The routes were fairly obvious.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Some big blow downs on both the Sabbaday Brook Trail and the Mount Tripyramid Trail. Most were duck/crawl understand but one on the upper third of Sabbaday Brook Trail is a mangled mess that you kind of have to crawl through.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Didn’t see any dogs today.
Bugs
Bugs: None.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Nothing.

Comments
Comments: Did this one with some random friends. It has been a long time since I’ve gone this way and I forgot how steep the final half mile or so of Sabbaday Brook Trail is. We put spikes on at the beginning of the day and kept them on until we got back to the parking lot - the snow shoes went for their first ride of the season. The snow down low was crusty enough that you didn’t post hole while the snow on the steep part was soft enough to kick steps in. While the heel lifts would have been nice in this section the uneven snow cover and loose conditions were better handled with the spikes. The trail between the two summits was a packed down highway.
