 | Water Crossing Notes: |
Drakes Brook is a bit sketchy. Find a narrow spot that has snow/ice on the rocks and cross. I'd advise bringing traction. I crossed at the main crossing with snowshoes and was fine. |

Saw two other groups, one with a dog. Sandwich Mtn Trail is a bit sketchy with just microspikes in places. Snow was mash potatoes over a layer of ice and very slippery, especially on the descent down Drakes Brook. I wore snowshoes from Jennings Peak Spur to the summit which was the best choice as the snow got deeper from that point up. Wore them on the entire descent down Drakes, which has a lot more snow than Sandwich Mtn Tr and they were also very helpful. Glad I schlepped them up the peak. |
