A great first full day of winter. Lovely alpenglow in the morning, a very warm day indeed. It's more or less a highway through the entire loop. I barebooted to treeline (firm enough to not pock the trail) and then put spikes on for the exposed section. The section along the ridge and first half of carriage after Glencliff junction was choppy in the warm sun. Nice little breeze on the summit and lovely pink hues in the sky all day. No need at this time for snowshoes |
