Hiking Trail Conditions Report
	Peaks	Mt. Jackson, NH

	Trails:	Webster-Jackson Trail

	Date of Hike:	Sunday, December 22, 2019

	Parking/Access Road Notes:	Webster/Jackson lot was almost full. Room for about 12 cars? Many people parked in front of Crawford station area.

	Surface Conditions:	Ice - Blue, Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Snow/Ice - Frozen Granular

	Recommended Equipment:	Light Traction

	Water Crossing Notes:	Some are starting to form bridges but most are unreliable. No major crossings and all were hoppable.

	Trail Maintenance Notes:	One blowdown that was easy to go around. Trail is overall in great shape!

	Dog-Related Notes:	Lucy loved it out there and summited her first official winter 4k! Final climb was fine since she went up the rocks but coming down was tricky. Saw 4 other dogs total all under strict voice and/or leash control. Yay for responsible pet owners!

	Bugs:	I SWEAR I SAW ONE MOSQUITO LOOKING THING AND I'M VERY UPSET. But it looked like it was on the brink of death so that made me slightly happier.

	Lost and Found:	Black glasses on the sign at the trailhead. Someone lost an empty beer can but I found it for them and tossed it :)


	Comments:	Beautiful hike with spikes the whole way! Everything was nicely packed (thank you to everyone who broke out and packed it down) so we cruised the whole way. Final ascent up the summit cone was very icy, but the views made up for it. Gorgeous day to be in the southern presis and fewer people on the trail than I expected for it being the first day of winter and with such great conditions. It was nice to have the summit to ourselves for a bit! Trip report with pictures below!
