 | Comments: |
The second time our annual Christmas Eve hike has taken Abbie and me to the summit of Stinson Mountain. Trail is in good condition but light traction is advisable, as there is a lot of exposed ice and ice beneath the snow in the last half-mile or so of the ascent. The forecast rain/wintry mix this coming weekend will likely cause trail conditions to deteriorate, however. At the summit, we had a great, clear view of the Baker River Valley below and even of far-away Mt. Washington. Lots of moose tracks near the summit, which were a source of great fascination for Abbie. Didn't see another person on the ascent or descent. |
