Comments
Comments: The trail was frozen and smooth along the way up. Probably easier than in the summer months. Above the hut the wind really started to pick up, blowing from the south making it hard to find any relief. I would guess the wind at the summits was between 40 and 50 mph. There was alot of exposed rock along the ridge and I thought of taking off the microspikes but then we would reach a north facing slope and they were very useful. Snowshoes may not work well due to the hard snow in the woods and numerous postholes left from the warmer days. The snow is still over 3 feet in spots. The trail near waterfalls was not too icy and the snow was covering most of the tricky spots.
