 | Comments: |
Mostly frozen conditions today. Even the spikes were taking a beating on the south side of the mountain, which has very little snow and what is there is melting fast. Lots of ice though which warrants light traction, but no tricky spots. More snow along the ridge and north side of the peak, but not a lot more and the snow pack is frozen.
The trail was well-traveled to the summit, but only a few people had ventured to the ledges beyond. Great views today and by the time we got to the top, most of the clouds had rolled out. Evidence of foot traffic noted along Mead Trail.
The descent was a bit more wet with melting snow / ice and a few muddy areas. |
