| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Parking for hikers is plowed and clearly marked, nearby the fish hatchery, then an easy road walk a mile or so to the trail head. Despite what the sign says, the gate does not close at night, according to the state plow workers that I talked with. |

Beautiful winter day up there! 6 to 8 inches of fresh snow from last night on top of packed powder. A fox or coyote had come all the way down from the ridge last night, mostly along the trail, hunting snowshoe hare and who knows what else along the way – fun to watch the story in the tracks. Plus, he or she helped break the trail ahead of my trip up. Nice work. |
