From the parking area to the trail head had a nice snow shoed path for about halfway up the road then looks like it was bare booted from there. The Basin trail had been snow shoed what looks like a few snow storms prior. Made it tricky in a couple spots to follow. Once we reached the real steep section where the big boulders are, we had enough and called it. Made the side trek on the way down to see Hermit Falls well worth it as they are frozen over but flowing underneath. |
