||Pitcher Mountain Trail|
|Date of Hike:
||Sunday, January 12, 2020|
|Parking/Access Road Notes:
||Five other cars at 11:45, same on the return. |
||Ice - Black, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Significant |
|Water Crossing Notes:
|Trail Maintenance Notes:
||Found a large branch half way up the blue trail. Moved it into the woods. |
||Only dogs I saw were heading up the dirt road towards Hibbard Hill.
It would be a great hike for dogs, even non-hiking dogs. |
|Lost and Found:
||There was a Sierra Club day pack at the kiosk at the trailhead. ||
||Last minute decision to hike Pitcher Mt. today. I thought the trails up north would be too sloppy.|
Did the loop counter-clockwise. The trail up was soft then turn muddy with running water, near the top there was small
section of ice. No need for traction, it was only 40 feet worth.
The jeep road coming down was a muddy mess nearer to the top, then change to just soft closer to the bottom.
