|Date of Hike:
||Monday, January 13, 2020|
|Parking/Access Road Notes:
||Plenty of parking at the Castle in The Clouds hiker parking lot. |
||Snow/Ice - Frozen Granular |
||Light Traction |
|Water Crossing Notes:
||Only a few small stream crossing, easy step overs. |
|Trail Maintenance Notes:
||My friend’s dog enjoyed the entire hike. |
|Lost and Found:
||Most of this trail is used for snowmobiles in the winter. Due to the recent rains there is not much snow but there are some icy sections. Micro spikes were the perfect footwear for the day but you could possibly get by without any traction.|
Once we got on the Turtleback Summit Trail where snowmobiles are not allowed, we were glad to see that someone had been up there awhile ago with snowshoes so it was all packed down.
No views with the heavy cloud cover today but it was still worth the little over 7 mile hike.
