Did this counter clockwise since Mt. Morgan trail was unbroken when we started and the Morse Trail was broken to the Mt. Percival Trail junction. Probably best approach since you ascend the steep last section up Percival vs. descend. About 8 inches of new fluffy stuff, which readily scraped off the icy rocks on the steeps. Broke trail to top, then the one solo hiker on spikes and his dog carried forward rest of way. Our snowshoes smoothed his steps. Gray skies and winds increased as the afternoon proceeded but still a lovely day. Glad we grabbed Mt. Morgan on return; always a great view. |
