Comments
Comments: Snowshoes a must, particularly for the ridge.

Old Mountain Road is decently packed out with some random carnage from a parasitic postholer. Fortunately the last person down was on snowshoes, which cleaned up most of the postholes. About a foot of snowpack.

Active drifting still on the ridge. The parasitic postholers trampled over saplings and brush to try to get around the drifts. This kind of side-of-the-trail damage results in trail creep and erosion.

Drifts are upward of 3 feet deep on the ridge.

Chilly morning with temps in the single digits, but not much wind.
