Comments: A nice hike for a bluebird day. Roads are beautiful coming from 16B. Wore snowshoes all day.

Ski trail is well packed. Otherwise, trail is broken but needs more packing by snowshoes. One sketchy icy spot as we descended from N. Doublehead to the New path/Old path junction. Continued over to S. Doublehead for the best views of the day. Descended via New Path--not much snow to work with, and many steep icy sections (did a lot of involuntary, painful butt sledding). Many rocks and tree roots exposed on New Path. Once it levels out, snow was deeper and rocks/roots weren't much of an issue. After the next substantial snow, New Path will be much kinder on the snowshoes.

Judging by the trail at Old Path/New Path junction and Old Path/Ski trail junction, Old Path is broken out.
