Great day up Israel. Wore spikes up Wentworth trail. Wentworth had been hiked/skied once or twice since last weekends snow. Had summit to myself with no wind, what a treat. Headed down Mead trail. Mead had not seen any visitors since the snow before me. Put on snowshoes and tracked out Mead. Sparse blazes, but easy enough to follow trail. Had lunch shortly after picking up Guinea Pond. Snowmobiles had zipped by on Guinea so took of snowshoes part way down. Barebooted from Sandwich road back to Mead. Saw lots of animal tracks, even moose prints on top of the snowmobile track that passed me 1/2 prior, just missed him! |
