Comments
Comments: Started hike 2:45am, so I was on Zeacliff before the beautiful sunrise. Wore microspikes to Zealand Hut then changed into snowshoes for Twinway. Lower half or so of Twinway between hut and Zeacliff had some postholes going down. Bondcliff Trail in Mt. Guyot area has bare rock and ice in places, but also has section of deep postholes. Trails out to West Bond and Mt. Bond in good condition. Took off snowshoes in col between Mt. Bond and Bondcliff due to the amount of bare rock. Some snow drifts and ice and lots of bare rock leading up to Bondcliff. Since I didn't have a car spot or ride waiting for me in Lincoln Woods I retraced my steps back to my vehicle on Route 302. Made for a long day, but the weather was beautiful and I enjoyed going back over the way I came. Met three hikers on Bondcliff who came up from Lincoln Woods. Already forgot their names. Sorry! Otherwise, it was just me on the trail. Had a nice chat with the Zealand Hut caretaker on my way out. Fun day!
