Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: From Rt 26 turned onto Clear Stream Loop, then crossed bridge over Clear Stream. Followed road up hill and turned right onto Hampshire Hills Loop that we followed until Summit Drive. Parked at the end of Summit Drive. Elevation 1850'. Parts of the roads leading to this point are steep - potentially a problem for inappropriate tires. A snomo access trail is located next to the parking area, which explains snomos traveling on the roads between Rt 26 and this point.

Comments
Comments: We went around the gate and onto the old logging road located directly in front of our vehicle. We followed this road south through an open field after which it narrowed considerably but was still easy to follow. We followed this road for .4 mile until we reached the snomo trail going east/west. We turned E on the trail for a short while to avoid a wet area. We then started the bw with a bearing for the 1943' bump located NW of the peak. As we were traveling along, we encountered a huge unplowed logging road that we followed nearly to the top of the ridge W of the 1943' bump. (If we had traveled further E on the snomo trail, we would have encountered this logging road). We then easily followed the ridge to the recognized high point. Curiously there are a couple of mini cols on this ridge that don't appear on topos.
breaking conditions - very good - 1-6" on a supportive crusr
grades - always easy
vegetation - wide open woods, open woods, some sprucy areas that could be a problem in deep snow
