Trails and whacks were all well packed out with some minor top cover. I started with Hillsound spikes on Lincoln Woods Trail which worked well enough on the morning. Once onto Black Pond Trail I kept them on but they were increasingly inefficient so I switched to snowshoes and kept them on until back at Lincoln Woods Trail where I switched back into spikes...but they started balling shortly thereafter so I yanked them off and barebooted back to the car. So snowshoes were the way to go once off Lincoln Woods - and you could make an argument for wearing them beyond the Osseo junction also. Brutus bushwhack was a little boney in some of the steep spots with a bit of bare ground exposed. The right 'split' mentioned earlier in the week is becoming filled in but yeah - go left.
Quiet day today: I didn't see a soul until descending Brutus as two others were ascending and that was it until back on Lincoln Woods Trail. Ate lunch at the obstructed viewpoint before the summit proper and at that time the sun was out. Increasing clouds throughout descent though and the sky dropped a few tiny flakes just as I got back to the lot. Nice day for this one!
