| Comments: |
The White Dot Trail was packed snow/ice the whole way. The employee at the Visitors Center store instructed us not to go down White Cross Trail as we had originally planned, because of icy rocks. He also said that hiking to the summit would not be permitted after it started raining, because of hypothermia conditions. Fortunately, we reached the summit and made it down before the rain started. The bare rock summit was about 32F with 30mph winds from the SE, so face protection (goggles, and storm hood, balaclava, or buff) was very helpful there. We encountered about 5-10 other hiking groups over the course of our hike. |
