| Comments: |
i opted to leave the snowshoes behind, which was the right call today. packed snow and bony trail up to the saddle between the peaks. a lot of bare trail and minimal cover getting to bald with one icy spot that required care. upper ledges pretty much totally bare below the summit. packed trail with sticky snow up over the highpoint of artists bluff. the steep pitches down to the bluff spur were generally snow covered with some ice apparent underneath. the next steep pitch had a mix of bare rock and ice then packed snow down to the actual artists bluff trailhead. i opted to just walk the road back to the parking lot. |
