Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: minimal and easy
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: several leanovers easy to navigate around, thanks to whoever did some branch cutting. A couple of blowdowns but, again, easy to get around them. No crawl-unders.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Mostly fine BUT, the first part of the descent from the summit of Owl's head on Martha's mile headed toward Mt. Martha is very, very steep and under certain conditions with certain dogs you might have a frightened animal on your hands. No novice hikers recommended. Can be icy and slippery. And did I mention steep? Our 2 dogs did it just fine but required encouragement at this spot.

Comments
Comments: Lovely traverse and nice powder. Probably all ruined by recent rain. Snowshoes for sure, soft and not consolidated in the least. Great views from top of Owl's head (a few good lookouts) and also from Mt. Martha. Good steep hiking both peaks, so a nice workout despite the entire trip being about 5 miles - it feels longer.
