A socked in and snowy day but spectacular nonetheless. Took Lonesome lake trail up to Dodge Cutoff and then Hi-Cannon to KRT. Trail was a little chopped up from the warm weather this weekend but otherwise packed mostly solid. A little softer up top. A good half inch of powder down low to almost two inches and still snowing as we started to descend. Had a great break in the Tram building warming up and sipping cocoa. Opted to take Hi-Cannon all the way down. It was definitely more choppy on this route but spikes car to car seemed the best course of action today. Snowshoes may be needed depending on how much snow falls tonight. Also the ladder on Hi-Cannon is exposed and didnt present any issues. |
