Comments
Comments: Saw Bryan had done this one, and Zachary had followed his tracks, so figured I better get up there and grab this one for myself, before it snows and covers the tracks.
Was able to detect the snowshoe trough right out of the parking area, and I went down the unmaintained part of Ore Hill just a little bit and I could pick out the trough going up into the woods.
Snowshoes were working really well; note there's no hard snow support, it's thin spring snow with a thick wet leaf bed beneath. Full snow cover, though.
I found the jar. I then made 2 brief excursions to walk portions of the perimeter of the summit area. I laid sticks at the start of these excursions to indicate they weren't part of the original bushwhack.
It was a beautiful sunny afternoon. There were partial views thru the trees. Talk about solitude, and so peaceful.. this turned out to be very relaxing afternoon.
