Heavy ice on birch trees left them hanging in the trail. |

Breaking was a little tougher for the first 0.8 where the trail is wider w/o tree cover; through this section I was sinking 4-6." In the woods there was a thin coat of new wet snow over a thin base. I lost the trail for a short distance, but regained it quickly and corrected on the return. |
