Comments
Comments: (Posting this belated report.) Our group of two adults and two kids snowshoed the out/back to Mt Martha summit (aka one of the Cherry Mountain peaks in the Dartmouth-Cherry Range) from the trailhead along the east side of Rt-115. Trail is in fine condition, very suitable for snowshoeing but was a bit too soft/unconsolidated for spikes or bare boots. Once you get to the ridgeline trail (also labeled Cherry Mountain Trail), note that it is shared with snowmobile traffic, and indeed we did encounter a half dozen snowmobilers. Just keep your eyes/ears peeled as you ascend/descend the last 0.3 miles from the ridgeline intersection to the summit proper, as the trail narrows and that's where snowmobiles may zoom up behind or in front of you, and you'll need to dart off into the brush to avoid a too-close-encounter. Great viewpoints looking east to the whole Presi range, as well as west to the Franconia range. Kids had a great time!
