Comments
Comments: Bluebird day! Crawford Path up to Pierce was in pretty good shape. Cold temps have kept the snow pretty loose and dry, so it's a little rougher and more postholed than it sometimes is. I opted for snowshoes, but lots of people were in spikes. Trail between Pierce and Eisenhower was pretty burly today. Heavily drifted and blown, so there was no trail to follow. Definitely wandered a little in spots, with some false starts and dead ends. May have drifted a little west (downhill) of the true trail, but got there in the end. Eisenhower Loop had an eight-foot drift right at the trail sign, but other than that it was very crunchy up to the summit. Stayed in snowshoes, but crampons wouldn't have been a bad option. Fair number of people out today, but not too much traffic past Pierce. What a day to be out!
