Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Howe Hill Road is plowed and sanded - my Corolla with winter tires had no issues making it to the winter parking lot (where there's room for roughly 4 cars). From there, follow the snowmobile trail to the summer lot, which has the trail sign.

Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Saw only a few blazes, but didn't have any issues following the trail. A couple of blowdowns at snow level (meaning they're not an issue currently). A couple others have had their branches trimmed off to make it easier for us to go under them.

Bugs
Bugs: Lots of snowfleas at the summit.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Found a black bandanna along the trail. We packed it out and will return it to its owner.

Comments
Comments: Fun hike up to Black Mountain on a warm, beautiful day! Trail was packed out the whole way, but was somewhat soft higher up - snowshoes are recommended to smooth out the trail. Grades are easy to moderate - nothing too steep. Beautiful views from the summit of Moosilauke, the Franconias, and to the south as well. Chippewa Trail looked at least somewhat packed out. Thanks Kathy for joining me!
