Comments
Comments: We started early and were fine with microspikes. The trail was solidly packed all the way to Middle Sister cut-off.

The cut off was not as well broken in and there were many signs of post holes. Because it was cold enough, we did not break through, but as the day warmed we would suggest snowshoes. Very narrow.

The trail to the summit was hard to find if you didn't know where it was. Lots of postholes there from hikers going many different directions. We had the summit to ourselves and it couldn't have been nicer, bright sun and a cool wind. On the descent of Champney Falls we removed our spikes because the snow was clumping and creating huge balls under our feet. Someone had been butt sliding down which made the trail more slippery without spikes. Hope we don't get rain!
