A NH Highest 500 peak. Bare-booted all the way to above the Fletcher Cascades following my previous track, then put on my old-school wooden Tubbs 35 inch snows. Was cruising along, breaking trail in heavy, wet and deep snow until about 2600' when the vegetation became super thick, slowing things to a crawl. The thick stuff lasted until 3000 feet. After 3K the forest opens up nice, straight to the summit. 3rd time is the charm. 4.5 hours to summit; 2 hours 45 minutes back to the car. |
