Comments
Comments: Started off in snow shoes and 15 degrees at the Lincoln Woods Trail head! Temperatures quickly rose to a pleasant mid-30s. Beautiful day for a long hike. Trails are easy to follow and snow is well packed. Warm weather did mean some melting snow. We were constantly knocking our snowshoes to clear the snow build up.

Took the Brutus Bushwack up Owl’s Head. Trail is steep and challenging but easy to follow. Watch carefully for it on the way down, it’s easy to miss. We picked out some landmarks to remember for the return journey and didn’t have a problem.

Hiked around the summit for a bit trying to find the “true” summit. Hard to find with all the snow and tracks. GPS said we found it but it’s some .4 miles after the first viewing area.

On the return, snowshoed to Lincoln Woods then bare booted for the last 2.6 miles to trailhead. Met a few other hikers. Challenging last mile up and down Owl’s Head but great hike overall.
